School Choice Bill Passes House of Representatives
Do you like Big Government, Big States, Big Spending, and Big Brother? This Bill gives you all of that and is a threat to fundamental freedoms.
SB727 Passes with all the necessary votes and not a single one more

Our local Representatives, Jamie Gragg and Bob Titus both voted yes on it.
I have reached out to both of them for comment to give them a chance for a fair representation of their views. I may disagree with their vote, but I will always respect them enough to have a chance to share their reasons.

Bob Titus stated, “It’s an historical day for Missouri’s kids. More families were given more choices and the schools will have the resources they need to provide a world class education.”

SB727 increases the scope, power, and funding of DESE on the slim hope that by creating a social program for Homeschoolers with strings attached [and ignoring the possible future threats from activists judges] that it will maybe erode DESE’s power, scope, and funding.
I’ve covered it. Catherine Dreher has also. Shield Maidens has covered it, so has MoEducationWatch and RightToWinOzarks. This is bad legislation full of hope and promises by Americans for Prosperity (Tied to Billionaire foundations who push DEI, CRT, and SEL into education). AFP is like our very own leftists, who use Conservative words, but are really the Big State Democrats hiding in our midst. This Bill has no chance of achieving the goals conservative Representatives hope it will achieve. It will achieve the goals of Big State, Big Spending Democrats who act like Republicans.
Rather, it’s a handout to special interests (our own special interests) and comes with all the razor-wire strings and systemic failures government provides in a social welfare program.
To the 82 voters of this bill and to the ones in the Senate, and to Governor Mike Parsons [who is not a conservative and will sign this], I offer my congratulations in making our Missouri government even more bloated.
