Parson appoints Prater to School Board of Education. Can Missouri Education survive his radical beliefs?
Radical Appointment? Governor's Pick for State Board of Ed Raises Concerns About Ideological Agenda
On April 12, 2024, Governor Parson appointed Dr. Thomas Prater to the State Board of Education. Yet should Gov. Parson have done so? Does a man like Dr. Prater represent the values of the 7th Congressional District where our elected leaders are people like Rep. Eric Burlison, Senator Josh Hawley, Senator Jill Carter, Senator Mike Moon, Rep. Jamie Gragg, or Rep. Bob Titus? I’m not even coming close to naming every conservative voice we have in the 7th District. We sent conservative people to Jeff City and to DC and Gov. Parson chose…Dr. Prater. I’m going to make the case that Dr. Prater’s support of Springfield radicals means he’s not conservative at all and doesn’t represent the 7th District.
Dr. Prater lives in Greene County and has been a political activist. From his business’s website, Mattax Neu Prater, they say he, “enjoys staying involved in his community and has served on the board of Springfield Public Schools, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Community Foundation of the Ozarks.”
Dr. Prater has been instrumental in the United Springfield PAC which I have highlighted before here as the United Springfield PAC spent $60,000 in two weeks on TV ads right at the end of the School Board election.

I know most people struggle to understand this about the Chamber of Commerce, but it has been captured by radical leftists and progressives. The people there are not interested in the good of the community or limited government. They want to expand government in every possible way.
I believe Thomas Prater is a radical and supports other radicals. Here is some evidence for that claim.
Dr. Prater has a history of giving to radical causes and radical ideologues. I don’t believe this is ignorance on his part, but intentional and part of his goal. In all the reports of Dr. Prater from the community, he is described as “radical”, “progressive,” and “ultra-liberal.” There are more accusations, but without evidence, I won’t print them.
I think there is evidence to support he is radical, progressive, and ultra-liberal.
Prater’s Support of Radicalism
Let’s look at Dr. Shurita Thomas-Tate who he has supported in the past. Dr. Shurita Thomas-Tate refused to pledge allegiance to the United States.
Was he aware of this? Did he contribute to her campain knowing about this?
Or what about this video where she thinks the American Flag or the Pledge of Allegiance is a political agenda? Part of the agenda of the radical progressive left is to destroy our National Identity so that we become ruled by a small group of people. Businesses think they can make more money if they rule us through one government. This is why the Chamber of Commerce works with radical marxists. However, this isn’t the end to Thomas-Tate’s radical beliefs.
Dr. Thomas-Tate demonstrates she follows Critical Race Theory, that she thinks unvaccinated people are selfish (though we now know they were the smart ones), that protecting children is bad (why be on the school board if you don’t like children), militantly racist, and is radically committed to equity.
Dr. Thomas-Tate calls out students for challenging her racism against white people, she insults Christians, insults the vaccinated and Christians, insults all of Springfield as racist (when she is the racist) and projects her problems on others, and supports BLM which is a Racist, militant, Marxist organization that wants to destroy America and turn in into a wasteland of Marxist utopian nightmares.
My Opinion
Dr. Prater knows who Dr. Thomas-Tate is. Does Governor Parson know who Dr. Prater is? I think we all need to call on Governor Parson to rescind this appointment to the School Board of Education. Dr. Prater has been an infection to Springfield politics, injecting our community with radical progressive ideology and using his influence to destroy our School Board.
What kind of damage would Prater cause with this appointment by Gov. Parson? What kind of radical infection would he inflame into our already sick and dying Education system? Dr. Prater doesn’t deserve this position.
Throughout history, people have used their education and status as tools to dominate and control others. When they see a chance to belittle others, and find a philosophy which will give them the tools to act like tyrants, they quickly adopt it. We cannot always trust someone because they are educated and successful. It doesn’t mean they are good or wise. You can be successful and educated and still be Dr. Mengele. We often forget that tyrannical philosophies are often the most tempting to the educated and successful.
Dr. Prater’s financial donations and his support of radical progressives in Springfield reveal that he is tempted by tyrannical philosophies. Let’s not give him any more power Governor Parson.
We can ill-afford any more little tyrants in this world where the constitution is an afterthought for every action of the government and it’s so-called protectors.
Dr. Maryam Mohammadkhani would be a great candidate for the SBOE, or Dr. Chad Rollins and Landon McCarter. However, the radicals in Springfield don’t need to infect the rest of the state with their progressive mandates to destroy the system.
That’s what Marxism does. It disrupts. It dismantles. It destroys. And whatever remains, it controls. It cannot build or create or reform. It rules over rubble and calls it heaven. Do not let Dr. Prater turn our Education in Missouri into rubble that he can rule over like a petty warlord.
