Promise to my Readers and to Myself
I’ve been publishing 2 to 4 articles nearly every weekday for a while now. I’m going to cut back a little.
Dear Subscriber,
I have been publishing a lot. More than I probably should be. There are so many topics to cover. I see other Substack writers lump all their stories into one daily round up. I don’t really care for that method.
Though I would be willing to hear out your views on it.
At the time of writing this, in just 4 months, this Substack has been read 15,000 times in a 30 day period.
It’s such a miracle that it has to be God’s grace.
I would like to return to writing one article a day now that the election is over. There will always be more issues to cover and more issues to fight than I have time to cover—it’s a hard lesson to learn I can’t do everything. Even with the pain and other areas of concern, I can’t solve all problems on my own. (Yes, I’m as foolish as anyone else).
The good news is I’m developing friendships with other writers because I would like to get this Substack to the point we are like a local news organization.
There are a few digital news sources like The Springfield Daily, but I would like to offer the truth and not offer what the Establishment wants me to say.
I’m meeting like-minded individuals, who are conservative, Christian, and unafraid. In time, I hope we will start to pool our resources and talents together to create something amazing.
For now though, because of my commitment to write 2-4 articles a day, I’m missing out with family, church, and God. I’m not even exercising when I should and with my health problems, I really need to exercise.
For smaller stories, I may do a news round up one day a week. We’ll see. Share your views. For the larger stories, I will want to keep to writing articles. I still plan to keep Fridays dedicated to philosophy and religion.
Wednesdays will be my fiction days (I apologize about March 27th’s missing post, but I’ve lost my voice from being sick for a few days and only just started to improve late on the 27th).
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday will be longer articles. Though, Monday and Tuesday are my best days for being viewed, so if I experiment with a news round up, I’ll do it on Thursday.
Friday, I will continue to also do a weekly podcast where I round up my articles. I’m trying to play with the format for that and I would appreciate any feedback on what you enjoy.
I will continue to pursue interviews with local candidates and politicians.
I’ve tried to become an entire newsroom and frankly, there is only one me, in relatively poor health and I thought God was wanting me to pull back from other activities to give this everything. I think I was wrong. God wouldn’t want me to not spend time with him, so I’m going to be more disciplined about my time. I was going to lunch with family and not putting my phone down to read, write, and message to get the next story. God wouldn’t want me to not spend time with family.
This is the start of an amazing journey. We’re not done changing local politics here in SW Missouri and beyond.
Last thing, if you are a subscriber, bless you. If you can become a paid subscriber, it would really help. We don’t have a conservative newsroom here. The more paid subscribers I take on, the more I can reach out to other writers and offer them compensation for their writing.
The best articles come from time, contemplation, and effort. Those future writers I want to bring in deserve to be compensated for their time and I hope to be able to do that.
I only get better at connecting the dots because I’m talking to more and more people and gathering more and more resources. I want any future writers who work with me to have the time to do the same.
With all my appreciation and love, I’m only your humble writer,
David Rice
I appreciate what you are doing. My prayer is that the load you are carrying will now be carried by a group of journalists and truth-tellers instead of one person.
